Children's Hospital Westmead St 2 Project
INVITATION FOR REGISTRATION OF ABORIGINAL INTERESTS
Health Infrastructure NSW are proposing works to upgrade facilities at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW). The CHW Stage 2 Redevelopment will follow the NSW Government’s investment into Stage 1 of the redevelopment of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead which is currently underway. Stage 1 includes a new children’s Emergency Department (ED), paediatric short stay unit, pharmacy, and medical imaging facilities.
The key features of the proposed CHW Stage 2 Redevelopment that will be the subject of a future State Significant Development Application (SSDA) include construction of a new multi-storey car park (MSCP) and realignment of Redbank Road.
In accordance with the Aboriginal cultural heritage consultation requirements for proponents (Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water 2010), Health Infrastructure NSW is seeking registrations of interest from Aboriginal people who hold cultural knowledge relevant to the study area.
Community consultation with Aboriginal people will assist Health Infrastructure NSW in the preparation of an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment Report for the proposed redevelopment. Consultation will also assist the Director General of the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment in their consideration and determination of the project.
Any Aboriginal people or organisations with relevant cultural knowledge can register in writing (email or letter) to:
