20kg of chocolate smashed at Max Brenner's opening ceremony

IT IS only two weeks until Max Brenner opens in Toowoomba and exciting new details have emerged about its opening day.

Keeping up with a growing hunger for delicious chocolate delights, Max Brenner will open at Grand Central Shopping Centre at 11am on Thursday, October 19.

The chocolate bar's 42nd opening in Australia will celebrate chocolate in all its forms.

At 11am on opening day Karissa Gesler, Max Brenner's ultimate chocolate fan who famously promised to exist on a diet of salad unless the bald man came to our city, will be the guest of honour and open the doors with the legendary Max Brenner chocolate breaking ceremony.

More than 20 kilograms of pure dark, milk and white chocolate will be smashed into indulgent chunks and shared with excited chocolate lovers.

To further celebrate the event, Max Brenner will be treating the people of Toowoomba to complimentary classic hot chocolates between 11am and 3pm on opening day.

Located in Grand Central's new restaurant precinct, the chocolate bar will be an ode to chocolate, with the treat expressed everywhere: in the music, in the design and the menu.

Max Brenner general manager Yael Kaminski said opening in Toowoomba was long overdue.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be opening our doors to the chocoholics of Toowoomba for the first time. Toowoomba has been on our radar for a long time now with many requests for a chocolate bar coming through on our social platforms," she said.

"It's long overdue and Grand Central Shopping Centre will be the perfect home for Max's delicious chocolate creations. We want to share our unique chocolate culture with as many chocolate-lovers as possible and we hope it'll be something they remember for a long time to come."
