A cut above the rest

SOUTH Burnett hairdressers have been invited to learn from nationally recognised experts in their field for an exclusive Kingaroy event.

TAFE Queensland's Kingaroy campus is hosting a Local Legends event on Wednesday, September 11.

The event is for Kingaroy to maintain strong and relevant industry skills, and will focus on the latest hairdressing techniques.

There will be a tour of the Kingaroy campus purpose-built hairdressing facilities and the opportunity to network with other local hairdressers.

Local hair dressers will also be treated to demonstrations by two special guests on the night.

Charlene Rapa from apaR Hair Studio and Ally McErlean from The Hair Pin will be showcasing their latest hairdressing techniques.

ApaR Hair Studio was created in 2016, everything within apaR reflects the spirit and passion of Founder Charlene Rapa.

With Charlene's vast industry experience, the salon design was built around the clients needs. A unique layout was designed to create a modern cafe like ambience to help welcome clients from the very first moment they enter the salon.

The salon was recognised by the Australian Hairdressing Industry awards making national finalist in 2017 for Best Hair Salon Design.

In such a short time apaR Hair Studio has become recognised throughout the industry and clients as a salon brand which stands for excellence in customer service and strives to support local Australian businesses and charities.

Salon owner and senior hair stylist Ally McErlean has over 29 years of hairdressing experience, both as a salon owner and as a regional manager for a large chain of salons.

Ally has assembled a team of diverse and experienced hair stylists, each having their own unique style, flair and creative ideas. Following a personalised consultation your stylist will listen to your ideas and provide appropriate advice in order to best meet your needs.

Michaela Noiesen from TAFE Queensland said she thinks the Kingaroy campus's hairdressing apprentices will get a lot of this night.

"Our upcoming stylists are very talented young stylists, with some great fresh ideas,”she said.

"Don't forget to say hello to our lovely apprentices. They are a very important part of our team, and are the most enthusiastic and very confident young people that I have worked with.

"We encourages local businesses to take part in the evening to ensure the region is equipped with all the latest cutting edge skills.”

Please RSVP to Melissa from De Lorenzo on 0405 181 940 before Monday, September 9.
