GET set for a night of elegance and mystery.

The Taabinga State School P&C will host a Masquerade Ball at the Commercial Hotel on April 29.

P&C members Melissa Fisher and Peita Harmsworth are organising the event.

"It's something different,” Mrs Harmsworth said.

"We wanted to mix it up.”

"Masquerade Ball is a mystery, you're not supposed to know who the other people are,” she said.

This means everyone needs to hide their identity.

"We're going to have masks for people that don't come with masks,” Mrs Fisher said.

"We'll have some live auctions going on.

"We've got footy tickets to the first State of Origin from Global Engineering and Construction and spot lights from Herbohns Auto Electrical.”

Finally Integrity New Homes have donated a fishing charter out of Rainbow Beach.

They'll also run a multi-draw raffle and everyone who buys a ticket to the ball will get entry into the lucky door price.

The winners will spend a few night at Redrock on Boonie, one of the South Burnett's premier eco-tourism locations.

Redrock is nestled in the Booie Ranges overlooking South Burnett wineries.

It is committed to protecting the natural environment and raising awareness of issue like soil degradation and water conservation.

Their cottages have glorious views, cool breezes, and are very private amongst stands of spotted gum trees.

All up the P&C aims to raise about $7000 and this money will be put towards install air-conditioning at the school.

The money won't pay for them out right but it take fair sting out of the bill.

At the moment only the library and computer and media room is are air-conditioned.

"Even the staff rooms and the main office, none of that's air-conditioned,” Mrs Harmsworth said.

This is their first run at hosting the ball.

If it is successful, they hope to make it an annual event.

So if you're interesting in a night of fine food, cocktails and mystery dress up and come on down.
