A stitch of support for farmers

A FARM-THEMED quilt will find its new home at Barbara Underdown's house after raising some much-needed funds for farmers.

The Nanango Country Quilters and Craft Group have recently crafted a farmers themed quilt which was on display at the Nanango Show for a raffle.

Group secretary Jan Stevens said the group sold raffle tickets at the show to raise money for the farmers drought relief.

Ms Underdown was thrilled to win the raffle draw as it was her birthday the day before.

"I love it, I had it over the back of the lounge with the cushions, it's the perfect design for my place," she said.

The quilt, with an estimated value of $550, raised $2000 through the raffle ticket sales at the show.

The money will be donated to the Queensland Country Women's Association to be distributed to the drought-affected farmers.
