A win for the Murgon community

MURGON Town Hall will have the ability to cater for more events for the community after receiving a $20,000 boost.

The hall will be kitted out with new furniture including a mobile audio-visual projector and screen with the grant from Member for Wide Bay Llew O'Brien.

"The Town Hall is an essential community facility for not just Murgon but throughout the South Burnett, and this equipment and furniture will make it even more useful to community groups, local organisations, schools and businesses throughout the region,” he said.

"From movie screenings for community events and fundraisers, to business presentations and educational forums, this AV equipment is a valuable addition to the amenities at Murgon Town Hall.”

The funding will be delivered by the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities.

Mr O'Brien said the government was committed to supporting local communities to prosper and grow, and local infrastructure projects like this were critical to boost economic growth and improve local amenities and facilities.

In the 2018-19 budget, the government committed to funding more than 100 new regional programs that create jobs, support economic growth and improve access to essential health, education and communications services.
