B-Double loses control on Burnett Hwy
A TRUCK driver escaped unharmed after his B-Double lost control on the Burnett Hwy at about 7am today.
It was ten seconds of terror as the the truck Darren Close was driving hurtled 200 metres down the highway sideways.
Mr Close said he thought the left back wheel of the trailer had caught the outside edge of the bitumen and pulled the whole truck around.
"I was doing about 90 (km/h) down the hill and I just lost it," Mr Close said.
"I have had around three to four years of experience diving these trucks," he said.
Part owner of the truck, Brad Hutchinson said the truck was on its way to Moura to pick up grain for a Mundubbera feedlot.
"The truck doesn't look too damaged and we are just happy that no-one was hurt," Mr Hutchinson said.
A front end loader was brought to the site of the accident and pulled the B-Double back onto the highway.
