Be quick: Events selling out for Maidenwell Country Muster

THE men behind the Maidenwell Trading Post and The Sauce Man are counting down until the Maidenwell Country Muster, an event they have been planning for more than a year.

And it's now only seven weeks away.

John Whitley and Nigel Squibb said they were excited to bring the event to the region.

"We've been publicly planning this for over a year now, but we've had the idea for nearly three, even before we moved to Maidenwell,” Mr Squibb said.

The Maidenwell Country Muster will be held at the Maidenwell Sportsground from Thursday, May 9 until Sunday, May 12.

"We've already had some of the smaller events sell out for the weekend. But there's still some tickets left for the main event on Saturday,” Mr Whitley said.

A VIP Celebrity Chef Buffet will launch the muster on the Thursday, before a Casino night is staged on the Friday night at the town hall.

"And we have Beccy Cole headlining on Saturday which is just unbelievable,” Mr Squibb said.

"Saturday is the main day. That's when all the music magic will be happening.”

Sunday, May 12 coincides with Mother's Day and will feature a breakfast event.

"We're calling it our Encore Mother's Day Breakfast. It's for the whole community, just got to get a ticket of course,” Mr Squibb said.

The Maidenwell Country Muster will finish with an old-time dance at the town hall on the Sunday afternoon.

"We've got the muster locked it for the next five years,” Mr Squibb said.

"Where we are now, in our first proper year with this event, is where we had planned to be by year three, and we haven't even run the first event.”

"We've got some big players on board in terms of headline acts and sponsors,” Mr Whitley said.

The men behind The Sauce Man will also be launching their own beer at the muster.

"Kicking off May 11 is our Maidenwell Country Muster Lager, and our Maidenwell Country Muster Draft, so that's two new beers for everyone to try at the Country Muster this year,” Mr Squibb said.
