Beautiful British 2014 Bentley Continental GT V8
FOR this week's blog, I will be featuring this stunning 2014 Bentley Continental GT V8 coated in a shade of matte pearl white.
As the name suggests, this model is equipped with the eight-cylinder engine rather than the W12 in the standard Continental GT.
The engine in this model is a 4.0-litre V8 that is able to produce a maximum of 373kW (500 hp) at 6000rpm and a mighty 660Nm of torque (487 lb-ft of torque) at 1700rpm.
Connected to the engine is a six-speed automatic transmission, with paddles shifters behind the steering wheel to take manual control over the gearbox. This way you can drive the car as either a normal automatic, or a manual. The power from the engine is then sent to all four wheels.
The Continental GT V8 is able to launch from 0-100 kilometres per hour in a whopping 4.8 seconds.
Compared with the much more powerful W12 variant which completes the time in 4.6 seconds, the smaller V8 propels the car along very nicely.
The top speed for this GT V8 model is 303 kilometres per hour (188 miles per hour).
When Bentley first introduced the Continental GT V8, it was designed to be the most efficient Bentley ever, and they have proved that a loud, heavy V8 luxury coupe can achieve a combined fuel consumption of just 10.5 litres/100km.
Bentley claims that this model is 40% more efficient than the W12 model.
For further efficiency, this engine features cylinder deactivation technology that turns eight cylinders into four cylinders. In total this increases the fuel economy by 8%.
Some other features that this Bentley is equipped with includes 21-inch six-twin spoke alloy wheels wrapped in performance tyres, double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, front and rear stabiliser bars, four-wheel ABS as well as traction and stability control, xenon headlights as well as daytime running LEDs, electronic brake force distribution, emergency braking assist, a premium leather interior, and much more.
You can currently buy a used 2014 Bentley Continental GT V8 for a about $430,000 AUD.
