Me and My Man Space: BMW M5 takes pride of place
How long have you had your shed? About two and a half years.
What's your shed mean to you? It's my own space. My partner takes care of the house and I can do what I want down here.
How do you maximise your space? I park the cars right over to the outside edges so it feels a lot bigger in the middle and I try to park them as close to the door as possible to get as much room as I can in front of them.
Does everything have its place? Yes, absolutely. I have specific shelves for a certain group of items, whether it's tools or yard maintenance.
Who's allowed in your shed? Everyone. Friends and family, as long as they don't bother me to much while I'm trying to work.
What's the favourite thing in your shed? Probably the red car, the M5.
What's an essential thing every shed needs? Good lighting, I reckon. This didn't have any power when we got here, so I rigged up some solar panels and batteries and now I can keep working after dark.
What's your favourite shed memory? It's hard to say. Probably when we moved in and I finally had a big shed to myself. I could store the red car properly.
If the shed was blown away in a cyclone what would you miss the most? Probably the red car. The M5. I've had it about six months longer than I've had the shed. I've had it resprayed; I've done a lot of work to it. It's still fairly stock standard. Everything's just been refreshed. It's the last of the M built cars from BMW. It's pretty special to me.
Any plans to extend?
I have thought about it. Maybe putting a slab out the front, with a hoist, but that'll have to wait.
