UPDATE: 'Pioneer' Rocky builder dies in sudden bike incident
UPDATE 3pm: WELL-KNOWN Rockhampton builder, Ted Price died this morning after suffering a heart attack while riding his bike on Yaamba Rd.
The family of Mr Price confirmed today the 74-year-old had a heart attack and fell from his bike on the busy road around 9.20am this morning.
Both lanes of the Bruce Hwy were closed north of Dawson Rd as paramedics tried to save him.
Sadly, Mr Price died doing the hobby he loved.
Close friend, Jason Rayner has honoured the man he has known for 40 years in a touching tribute with a Morning Bulletin journalist yesterday.
Rockhampton Regional Council mayor Margaret Strelow also reflected on her memories with the "pioneer" of the region's development.

UPDATE 11am: PARAMEDICS treated a man for a serious medical condition this morning after an incident that closed the Bruce Hwy.
Queensland Ambulance Service reported a middle-aged man suffered a "serious medical episode" and fell off his bike as a result on Yaamba Rd.
The incident closed the Bruce Hwy north of Dawson Rd and the man was not transported to hospital.
QAS has left the scene.
INITIAL STORY: PARAMEDICS are treating a cyclist in a critical conditional after an incident north of Rockhampton this morning.
Queensland Ambulance Service report crews were called to Yaamba Rd in Glenlee around 9.20am to an incident between a car and bicycle around.
A spokesperson from QAS said it was still unclear whether the cyclist was struck by the vehicle or whether they suffered a medical condition.
Paramedics were currently on scene treating the patient who was in a critical condition.
Department of Transport and Main Roads issued a statement saying the Bruce Highway was blocked at Dawson Rd.
