Rockhampton man killed as car smashed into tree at Biloela

A ROCKHAMPTON man has been killed and another man seriously injured in a crash at Biloela last night.

It's believed the 21-year-old died at the scene of the accident after the vehicle they were in crashed into a tree on Valentine Plains Road just after 9pm.

Police say the men were trapped in the car when it caught fire.

A 20-year-old Stanwell man was initially taken to Biloela Hospital but has since been airlifted to Brisbane.

 

UPDATE 11.40AM: The 21-year-old man who died in a crash at Biloela last night has been identified as being from Rockhampton.

The second man, who has been airlifted to Brisbane is from Stanwell.

UPDATE 11.50pm: One man is dead and another is being prepared to be airlifted to Brisbane after a serious crash at Biloela tonight.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said a 20-year-old male, who was earlier taken to Biloela Hospital, was being prepared to be airlifted to Brisbane.

She said the deceased was a 21-year-old male.

It is believed he died at the scene of the crash were a vehicle crashed into a tree on Valentine Plains Rd and the caught on fire just after 9pm tonight.

BREAKING 9.20PM: Emergency services are responding to a crash at Biloela.

Initial reports suggests two men are trapped in the car, which is on fire after hitting a tree.

It is believed the crash has occurred on Baileys Lane, east of the town.
