Not fast enough: Police catch extreme speedsters

POLICE have caught up with three drivers exceeding the 100kmh highway speed limit by more than 40kmh.

A 30-year-old man from Western Australia was intercepted in a Commodore utility after its speed was checked at 158kmh in a 100kmh zone on the Peak Downs Hwy at Coppabella.

On the Bruce Hwy, a Nambour man, 39, was intercepted at Bowen doing 144kmh in an Aurion sedan, while a 49-year-old man in a Falcon clocked at 142kmh was stopped at Koumala.
