COUNCIL BRIEFS: New events at South Burnett libraries
THE first round of applications for the South Burnett Regional Council's 2019/20 community grants program has opened.
It includes a number of categories such as events sponsorship, community hall insurance, regional arts development fund, healthy communities activities and one-off projects or programs. The round will close on Saturday, August 31.
Not-for-profit community organisations are encouraged to contact the council to discuss their ideas, projects or events before submitting their applications.
A NEW trivia group has been meeting each Friday at the Kingaroy Library at 10am.
The group is open to anyone interested and will discuss all things trivia.
There will also be a series of bridge sessions for experienced players or those wishing to learn.
The bridge sessions will be held on September 9, 16 and 23. Bookings are essential.
THE Nanango Library will continue to host meditation sessions to help participants reduce stress and anxiety, increase energy and improve health and wellbeing.
The sessions are held in the Ringsfield House chapel or gardens every Wednesday morning from 9.30 to 10.30am.
SOUTH Burnett libraries will be giving budding entrepreneurs an opportunity to develop new skills by gaining personal guidance on the practicalities of business.
Anyone thinking of starting up a business, or who would like to further develop their business, can book an appointment with the entrepreneurship facilitators by contacting a South Burnett library.
