Crews called to fire in Mount Pleasant

UPDATE 11.40PM: A SMALL electrical fire in a Mount Pleasant home was extinguished before firefighters arrived.

After the initial alarm was raised about 11am, fire crews and police rushed to the scene to find the resident of the Philip St already had the fire under control. 

Crews remained on scene and talked to the resident. Emergency services and Ergon remained on scene to inspect the premises. 

UPDATE 11:15AM: TWO fire crews and two police cars and Ergon Energy are at the scene of a fire in Mount Pleasant. 

A Daily Mercury reporter at the scene said the crews were outside a house opposite Gordon White Library. 

INITIAL: FIRE crews are en route to reports of a structure fire in Mount Pleasant.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the reported blaze was in a building in Phillips Street.
