FEELING the Christmas spirit already?

Embrace it and head to the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery for a day of Christmas in July arts and crafts this Thursday, July 25.

As a gallery first, director Catherine Woodham will be leading the festive event, and said she was excited for some mid-year Christmas fun.

"Well, we figured since it's July 25, Christmas in July, why not do something?” she said.

"We'll be using a range of fabrics, felts, ribbons, bits of twigs and wood, cinnamon sticks, buttons, and cards.

"Pretty much I'll be doing demonstrations of some ways to get crafty and make tree hanging decorations and Christmas cards.”

The event will run from 11am through to 2pm, and costs $5 per person.

Participants will walk away with their own handmade Christmas ornaments, based on demonstrations by the arts and crafts enthusiast.

Ms Woodham has been involved with the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery since October last year, and said she loved volunteering.

"I'm just a really big arts and crafts lover,” she said.

"I'm also involved with a local craft group called Jumping Ant Art. I try to be as involved as I possibly can.”

Ms Woodham said she had loved her time volunteering at this year's Winter Craft Festival.

"I've just been having so much fun,” she said.

"I also believe it's a really great opportunity for us all to come together and encourage crafts and creativity in the South Burnett.

"I'm a little sad the festival will wrap up on Tuesday. It's just been such a great experience and everyone who has been involved around here has said so too.

"People have been saying it's a really inspiring event for the South Burnett.”
