Driver of the week is humming along
IN THE quest to make South Burnett roads a safer place, it takes the whole region to get involved.
With the recent introduction of road safety bumper stickers, the South Burnett Times has created a new weekly feature to reward safe drivers.
The Driver of the Week feature is to commend those motorists who have made road safety a priority.
To get involved all you need to do is pick up your road safety bumper sticker from the South Burnett Times office, the Kingaroy Police Station or any of Kingaroy's new car centres.
The cost of the bumper stickers is just a gold coin donation.
All funds raised go towards promoting road safety awareness in the region.
This week our Driver of the Week is Mike Coronel.
Age you got your licence?
I think I was 18.
Probably a big H1 Hummer. I have always liked them. They are big and they really stand out.
Favourite driving music?
I just like listening to the radio. I actually like to drive without the music sometimes. But if I am on a long drive I have to have the radio on.
Best safe driving tip?
Focus on what you are doing. Don't get distracted by phones or the kids in the back. Expect the unexpected.
Why are you passionate about road safety?
Our roads have been really bad lately. We once had a guy who went flying past the shop, he hit a pole outside our shop.
