Drivers gear up for new Kingaroy speedway season

DRIVERS will rev their engines on the Kingaroy speedway tack for the first meeting of the new season on October 19.

The Kingaroy Speedway Club are gearing up for another big season featuring the eighth annual Kings Royal and Queensland super sedan title.

The Kings Royal will be raced over January 24-26, 2020 and will also see the rerun of the Queens Royal celebrating the contribution of women to the sport.

The Queensland title will be raced on December 14 and should be a highlight of the calendar according to Ryan Harris from the club.

"This date should attract a magnificent field of drivers to the likeable show ground venue who will host the state title for only the second time in its forty-seven year history. Super Sedans also return for a Queensland Series round in March," he said.

Street stock drivers will be racing to win $1000 in the Uniform Zone Stampede being held on March 15 and will compete throughout the season in the five round super sedan series.

Modlite drivers will have four opportunities to take the track, wingless sprints will race at the season opener and lightning sprints feature twice throughout the season.


September 21, 2019: Practice night for all speedway Australia divisions

October 19,2019: Season opener for modified sedans, wingless sprints, production sedans, modlites, junior sedans and street stocks.

November 16, 2019: Spring spectacular featuring V8 dirt modifieds, modified sedans, production sedans, junior sedans and street stocks.

December 14, 2019: Christmas Cup featuring the super sedan Queensland titles as well as production sedans, lightning sprints and street stocks.

January 24-26, 2020: Kings Royal for modified sedans and the Queens Royal for women. production sedans, junior sedans, modlites and street stocks will compete in support.

March 14, 2020: Autumn nights spectacular with street stocks racing for $1000 in the stampede as well as National 4's, a Queensland series for super sedans and junior sedans and lightning sprints.

April 11, 202: Sedan shootout featuring modified sedans, production sedans, national 4's, late models and junior sedans.

May 3, 2020: Kingaroy Show meeting for modified sedans, production sedans, national 4's, junior sedans, modlites and street stocks.
