Drug of choice lands local man before the courts

ON MONDAY, September 30 in Kingaroy Magistrate's Court, Bradley Glover, 27, pleaded guilty to two drug-related charges.

Mr Glover was found in the possession of cannabis and utensils or pipes that had been used in relation to the drug on Saturday, August 24.

Police prosecutor Pepe Gangemi said at 9.24am the police entered a property on Alford St and found him with less than one gram of cannabis and a electric grinder in connection with the use of the drug.

Defence lawyer Mark Werner said it was his client's first appearance before the court in years.

"He has a learning disability and is illiterate and on a disability support pension,” Mr Werner said.

"To his credit he does start work in a fruit picking job next week.

"There is no history since 2016,” he said.

In her sentencing Magistrate Louisa Pink said she took into account all of the submissions and that it was 'a small amount of cannabis' and that he had not been before the court in three years.

She convicted and fined the defendant $350 with convictions recorded.
