Easter fun day to parade through town of Proston

GET the family together for some Easter-themed fun this weekend in Proston.

The morning will kick off with the Proston CWA Easter Parade from 10am on Easter Saturday, April 20.

Judges will be keeping an eye out for the best decorated float, best decorated bicycle and the best fancy costume.

Marshalling for the parade will commence at 9.30am at the Proston Baptist Church before travelling along Blake St and down to the CWA rooms.

Easter fans will be able to have their fancy hats ready as an Easter Hat Parade will follow at 11am.

There will be a thong toss, egg and spoon race and scavenger hunt to keep everyone entertained.

There will be a variety of food, market stalls and craft activity tables on the day.

The fun will continue in Railway Park on Rodney St with the annual Proston Regatta in the Park, which will run after the parade.

Some Regatta floats will feature in the Easter parade before entering in the Regatta, which will have seven class entries from major sponsors who will compete for the perpetual trophy.

These include Coverty Creek Community Development and Social Club, Proston Men's Shed, Smithfield Cattle company, Proston SPAR express, the South Burnett Regional Council, local and Labor candidate for Flynn Zaz Beers and the Ruger Construction Group.

Entrants can buy a boat and then navigate through the dry course towards the pirates treasure at the end.

The Regatta will raise funds for the Proston Men's Shed.
