Escapee suspect in car theft
POLICE haven't ruled out the possibility prison farm escapee Jason Hardie was linked to the theft of a vehicle from North Rockhampton on Wednesday night.
The blue Subaru was reported stolen from the Frenchville area and was last seen at a service station at Miriam Vale on Thursday night.
Hardie is on the run from authorities after escaping from the farm at the Capricornia Correctional Centre on Tuesday night.
CIB officer-in-charge Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Moon said police were not ruling out Hardie as a suspect in the car theft.
He said police had stretched their search nation-wide for the 25-year-old. He was serving two-and-a-half years for car theft and stealing.
