EYE ON THE SKIES: Forecaster predicts more rain for region

THE welcome rain that fell at the weekend was just a promise of what is to come later this week.

Light rain fell for the first time in a long time in Kingaroy and surrounds on Saturday.

"There was just over 7mm," Weatherzone meteorologist Scott Morris said.

"Hardly anything fell on the Sunday, less than a millimetre."

Mr Morris said storms moving along the coast today.

"They won't reach the South Burnett today," he said.

"But by tomorrow it looks like these storms are going to shift inland.

"They will then eventually reach the South Burnett."

Mr Morris said the region could expect rain and storms tomorrow.

"Around Kingaroy there should be a decent amount of rain," he said.

"Kingaroy can expect at least 5mm.

"After the Tuesday storms and rainfall the week will be mostly clear."
