Final negotiations underway to save our private hospital

WITH just five days until its closure, the fate of the South Burnett Private Hospital nears.

South Burnett Regional Council Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said he was locked in last minute negotiations in an attempt to secure a new provider and keep the hospital open.

Cr Kratzmann said negotiations with Queensland Health and Pulse Health had so far been "fruitful" and admitted he felt positive about the facility's future.

"The window of opportunity is still open and i'm jumping through it," he said.

Cr Kratzmann said he should know the future of the private hospital by early next week.
