Five things to do in the South Burnett this weekend
IT IS a time for celebration in the South Burnett this weekend with communities coming together to mark milestones and celebrate the festive season.
Here is a list of five things to do in the region this weekend.
THE speedway community will be getting in the festive spirit at the club's final meeting of the year from 4pm.
A Queensland title will be on the line in the lightning sprints, V8 super sedans will be racing, wingless sprints will be competing in the IBRP super series and a strong field is expected in the modified sedans.
Kingaroy Toy Run
MOTORBIKE riders will come from far and wide to spread the Christmas joy with hundreds of toys to be donated to the Salvation Army as part of the annual Christmas toy run.
Riders will meet at Kingaroy Mitre 10 from 11am before parading through town.
SATURDAY will mark 100 Parkrun events in the South Burnett and the running community will be celebrating the milestone on the rail trail at 7am.
The event will cater for runners of all levels, who will be supported through the 5km distance.
Yarraman Christmas Carnival
SANTA Claus will be making an appearance at Yarraman's Christmas Carnival at the recreation grounds from 5-8pm.
At the event, sponsored by the Yarraman Progress Association, the winners of the town's Christmas tree display competition will be announced and there will be a jumping castle, treasure hunt, live entertainment and raffles.
Kumbia Christmas Carnival
THE Kumbia community will come together for their annual Christmas carnival at the town hall from 5pm.
The carnival will feature the town's traditional festival of Christmas trees, face painting and rides.
