Five things to do in the South Burnett this weekend
1. Sound Of Music
ESCAPE to Austria in Kingaroy at the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society's production of The Sound Of Music.
The musical will be at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre for the first time at 7pm on Friday, at 2pm on Saturday and the audience will be encouraged to join in at the sing-a-long show at 2pm on Sunday.
Music lovers can also see the show from August 1-4.
Saturday and Sunday
PICK up fresh produce and discover homemade gems at markets this weekend.
The Wondai Country Markets will be on Saturday at Coronation Park from 7am-noon.
The Nanango Mini Market is also on Saturday on the corner of Drayton and Burnett Sts from 7am-noon.
On Sunday, residents can browse wares at the Bunya Mountain Markets from 9am-2pm or the Hivesville Country Markets from 7-10am.
3. Captain's Dinner
THE community will hear from cricket legend Greg Richie, rugby league star Michael Hancock and record-breaking sailor Jessica Watson at the annual Captain's Dinner in aid of Relay for Life.
All proceeds raised at the event will go towards South Burnett's Relay for Life effort to raise funds to help find a cure for those with cancer.
4. Wondai Parkrun
RUNNERS will hit the South Burnett Rail Trail from 7am for Wondai's weekly parkrun.
5. Rugby league
SENIOR players will return to the field as Murgon hosts Wondai at 1pm and Kingaroy hosts Cherbourg at 3.30pm.
