Five things to do this weekend

1. Eat some bacon

KINGAROY will come alive this weekend for the first ever BaconFest.

Running from today to Sunday, there will be a variety of food trucks, eating competitions, live music and celebrity chef demonstrations.

Pick up our BaconFest guide for a full list of events.

2. Go for a run

AFTER filling up on all of that porky goodness, competitors can compete in their bacon attire in a running and cycling event along the rail trail.

The Rail Trail Rasher's Rush will go from 7-10.30am from Kingaroy's Memorial Park.

3. Cheer on your team

THIS weekend marks round one of the finals for the South Burnett Rugby League competition.

Your team needs your support to cheer them on.

Games are at the Cherbourg fields all day on Saturday. A-grade games will kick off from 4pm.

4. Hog Fest

BIKERS and campers will be rolling into Maidenwell this weekend for Hog Fest.

The event will feature a pig on the spit, a helmet toss and live music on Saturday from 2pm.

For more information visit page 70.

5. Little piggies

KINGAROY'S Memorial Park will be serving up some little piggy fun on Saturday morning at the Piggies in the Park event from 8am.

A range of activities will get young families into the spirit of this year's BaconFest celebration with breakfast options, dance competitions and craft activities on offer.
