Former MP to have road renamed after him

FORMER Member of Parliament Robert Schwarten will have a road near the new Gracemere overpass named after him.

Rockhampton Regional Council voted for the change at a council meeting today.

The council then tweeted the decision, saying the section of road to be named Robert Schwarten Rd will be between Malchi Nine Mile to Boongary Rd.

Mr Schwarten, who retired at this year's State Government election, was the Labor Party Member for Rockhampton for over 20 years.
