APN’S NRL team of the week: Round 4

APN's NRL team of the week

FULLBACK: Anthony Milford (Canberra): Played his way into his first team of the week ahead of Jarryd Hayne and Sam Tomkins with an eye-catching display in the upset win over Souths.

WINGER: Glen Fisiiahi (Warriors): Four tries will get you in this team every week. Was almost unstoppable down the left side with a powerful display.

CENTRE: Steve Matai (Manly): Carried an injury but played like his life depended on the result. Not everyone's favourite player but his teammates love his aggression and the way he comes up with the big plays.

CENTRE: Joseph Leilua (Newcastle): Responded to the emotion of the day by scoring three tries with brute strength.

WINGER: Reece Robinson (Canberra): Under-rated talent. His two quick tries in the first half gave Canberra the perfect start and they went on with the job.

FIVE-EIGHTH: Kieran Foran (Manly): Only played after an 11th hour fitness test on his calf and he turned in a blinder. Clocked up more than 150 metres and was a rock in defence as usual.

HALF: Shaun Johnson (Warriors): Finally delivered with a classy running game that ignited the Warriors after they looked in big trouble early against Wests.

PROP: Josh McGuire (Brisbane): The "Big Show" lived up to his nickname by running 158m and making 25 tackles against the Dragons.

HOOKER: Nathan Friend (Warriors) His tireless work often goes unnoticed but he was creative out of dummy half and got the Warriors' big men going forward at crucial times.

PROP: Aiden Tolman (Bulldogs): Accepted the challenge against the Storm pack and bashed and bettered his way to just under 200m as well as making more than 30 tackles.

SECOND ROW: Anthony Watmough (Manly): Just keeps producing the numbers. Scattered the Roosters' defence and created opportunities with the ball as well as defending stoutly.

SECOND ROW: Greg Bird (Gold Coast): Revelled in the difficult conditions which made the clash with the Cowboys a bash and barge affair.

LOCK: Matt Gillett (Brisbane): Has made a few small changes to his game. His two early tries got Brisbane off to a great start against the Dragons. Posted 124m and 25 tackles.
