GALLERY: Hundreds without power after storm
HUNDREDS of homes across the region have been left without power following this afternoon's wild weather.
Ergon Energy's power outage map shows areas in Murgon, Proston, Cherbourg, Wondai, Bunya Mountains, Kingaroy, Blackbutt, Crows Nest, Maidenwell and Yarraman have been affected, and crews are working to restore electricity.
At Cooyar, Maidenwell and Yarraman the outage was attributed to a fallen power line.
There have also been reports of minor storm damage.
Widgee's Shiamber Fountain posted the below photo on the South Burnett Times Facebook page, showing what's left of her garden shed.
"I just got home from work and was shifting the outdoor furniture and saving the birdcage and next minute the shed was gone," she posted.
In Kingaroy, the shade sail at the Rotary Park playground was blown off.
A LATE afternoon storm has hit the South Burnett, bringing mixed reports of rain across the region.
Moffatdale copped a drenching, though campers at the Barambah Bush Caravan and Camping Park said it was short lived and quickly slowed to a drizzle before drying up completely.
Whether or not your town received a downpour, Mother Nature did manage to put on a spectacular display and readers have flooded Facebook with their images from this afternoon.
Many of the photos have captured storm clouds with a red tinge, reported to be dust from dry paddocks out of town.
