A TRUCK driver is counting his blessings after he miraculously walked away from a truck crash which was engulfed in flames.

At 7pm on Saturday August 17, the male driver was travelling on the Bunya Hwy, just outside Murgon, when he hit cattle that were on the road.

The impact of the collision forced the truck into a tree on the side of the road.

A Queensland Fire Service spokeswoman advised multiple fire crews worked through the night to extinguish the blaze.

At 9am the following morning, Murgon Fire Captain, Jim Dennis advised crews were still on the scene containing the smouldering cane mulch bales.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman advised the driver was uninjured and did not require QAS services.

The Bunya Hwy was closed while the tireless fire crews worked on containing the blaze.
