RUGBY LEAGUE: The winner of the first grand final played in the South Burnett rugby league competition was too close to call until the very end of the match.
Under-12s Kingaroy Red Ants played off against Nanango Stags in a tight premiership game.
At half time the scores were locked at 12 - 12 between the two sides.
Although as the game drew closer to the final siren the Red Ants scored a try and a conversion, which ultimately won them the game 18 - 12.
U12s Kingaroy Red Ants coach Sonie Crumpton said his team gave it their all in the last match of the season.
"It was a really close game but it feels great to come away with the premiership win," Crumpton said.
"It's been a pleasure to coach the team this year.
"They have trained and played really hard all season and I believe that they deserved the win today," he said.
Sandra Prain has been the manager of the U12s Kingaroy Red Ants this season and said she was thrilled for the whole Red Ant community to come away with the win.
"The team makes me proud to be a Red Ant," Prain said.
"The kids are an absolute great bunch of people which makes for an even better team.
"We are all so proud of their efforts on and off the field this year," she said.
