SOUTH Burnett cancer supporters dressed up to listen to former Australian captains on Saturday night.
The South Burnett Relay for Life Dinner with The Captains took over the Kingaroy town hall to raise funds for Cancer Council and the Relay for Life event in October.
Representatives from South Burnett businesses and guests listened to guest speakers Rugby union player Mark Ella AM, Olympian swimmer Lisa Forrest and Australian cricketer Ian Healy share their sporting stories.
Each sporting star was interviewed by MC Wayne Kratzman and shared their thoughts on their leadership roles for the Australian teams and highlights from their career and beyond.
South Burnett Relay For Life chairwoman Rowena Dionysius said the fundraiser had banked more than $23,000 before the night.
"Every cent we can get is another dollar towards research,” she said.
WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn donated signed gloves and a T-shirt as auction items, and beach volleyballer Taliqua Clancy donated a beach volleyball signed by the Australian women's and men's Commonwealth Games team.
