Gastro outbreak sweeps through primary school
KUMBIA State School is experiencing a suspected outbreak of gastroenteritis.
In a Facebook post, Acting Principal, Erin Thorpe advised of the outbreak and assured parents the school had the situation under control.
The health and safety of the students and staff is the highest priority and the school has advised of a series of preventative measures currently being implemented in the school.
You can prevent your child contracting bad case of gastro with the following suggestions:
- Encouraging students to frequently wash their hands especially before meals.
- Provide the children with antibacterial gel for hand washing.
- Encourage children to drink from bottled water.
The school has suggested no use of school bubblers to restrict potential student-to-student transmission.
