Grab your brolly, it looks like rain - a little anyway

PARTS of Toowoomba and surrounds are enjoying some showers at the moment as a storm drifts across the Garden City.

Unfortunately, according to Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Jess Gardner, there may not be a lot of rainfall in it for most of us.

However, if you happen to live a little north of Toowoomba, you may well get up to 25mm if you're lucky.

"We have an upper trough over south-east Queensland at the moment which is bringing storms and some rain," she said.

"There is a storm heading over Toowoomba at the moment and some people could see up to about 9mm of rain but a lot of people won't see anything at all.

"It's mostly hit and miss.

"However, some people a little north of Toowoomba could see some good rains of 20mm to 25mm this afternoon."

Ms Gardner said this weather will stick around for much of the afternoon over the Toowoomba region before clearing this evening.

"There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm today as well which could bring some heavy rainfall and wind gusts," she said.

Whatever rain we get today we should enjoy it while it lasts.

The Bureau expects Toowoomba to be bathed in sunshine tomorrow.
