Have your say at the rail public meeting
A PUBLIC meeting will take place on Thursday to discuss the implications of the proposed South Burnett mine and rail line, hosted by Kingaroy's Concerned Citizen's Group.
The preferred route of the rail line to transport coal from the proposed mine has been released by developers Moreton Resources, which will follow the current recreational Rail Trail with deviations to the main town areas of Wondai, Kingaroy, Murgon and Goomeri.
Meeting attendees will be able to peruse a map of the proposed route at the meeting as well as its potential impacts on residents, farms, and businesses, so they can fully understand the proposals.
During the meeting KCCG representatives will give landowners and community members the opportunity to share their personal concerns regarding this proposed rail line route.
These responses on the night will be considered within a response during the consultation phase of the mine application process in the environmental impact statement released by Moreton Resources in April.
The public meeting will take place in the Wondai Town Hall at 7pm on Thursday March 1.
