'He's over it': GP threatening to leave due to youth crime
SOUTH Burnett Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff is calling for more police in the region after a spate of youth crime in Murgon in recent weeks.
A local GP has had enough and has even threatened to shut up shop if sensitive documents are tampered with.
Cr Duff said Murgon doctor Graham McAllister had threatened to close his Murgon Family Medical Practice doors.
"He is over it," she said.

"If they get into the surgery, he has threatened to close.
"There is stuff in there they cannot afford to have tampered with."
This comes after several incidents on Saturday, March 9, which included a group of youths getting onto the roof of the doctors surgery.
They also damaged property at not-for-profit group BIEDO and Struddys Sports.
"Luckily, Mark from Australian Hotel noticed there were kids on the roof and chased them away," Cr Duff said.
"The surgery phoned police for assistance but they said they were too busy to come."
Cr Duff said youth crime had not improved since.
"Just yesterday afternoon they put red paint all over the doctors' cars and threw rocks at the surgery door," she said.
A council meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 26 to address issues such as youth crime in the region.
