WHEN Harley Cash visited Underwater World as a child, he would look up at the massive shark adorning the entrance and dream of getting up close to it.

Now, that shark sits in his front yard, up on a dam wall.

"It's a good novelty for the front yard, eventually I'm going to pitch it up on the dam,” Mr Cash said.

"I've got a four-year-old boy and five-year-old girl that get up and play on it, they couldn't believe it when they saw it.”

The Ellesmere man bought the shark on Facebook.

"I offered them $700, double what they were asking because nobody else was offering, it didn't mean anything to anyone else,” he said.

"I wanted it a long time ago.

"I've always liked sharks, and that one in particular.”

It arrived on his property two weeks ago.

With the shark now lodged in its new home, Mr Cash is hoping to be able to track down the octopus that was on the other side of the entrance so he can have the full set.

"Everyone in the family thinks I'm crazy,” he said.
