How physical activity can benefit you
WHEN it comes to staying fit in winter, it can become a bit of a challenge.
However, Conquer Fitness Kingaroy manager Amber Oliver has some tips to keep you on track.
"Through winter especially, it is hard to stay dedicated and committed due to all the cold days, however implementing a routine and setting goals is a great way to stay motivated,” she said.
"Schedule in your workouts and make it an appointment you cannot miss. Finding a workout buddy can also keep you accountable and gives you an incentive to keep active.”
Miss Oliver said there are many health benefits when it comes to physical activity.
"It can help improve your health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type two diabetes, some cancers and cardiovascular disease,” she said.
"Physical activity has both immediate and long-term health benefits, but most importantly regular exercise can improve your overall quality of life.”
As it is Diabetes Awareness Week, Miss Oliver said a general increase in a diabetic's fitness and physical health will help by maintaining and controlling their overall health including blood sugar and insulin levels.
If you're wanting some guidance when it comes to improving your fitness, Miss Oliver said that every client that signs up at Conquer Fitness receives a free personal program.
"Every client has individual goals and needs that we do our absolute best to cater too,” she said.
As well as these programs, Miss Oliver said the team at Conquer Fitness are committed to providing extensive knowledge and quality service, through a great variety of equipment, services and charisma.
"We want to install correct knowledge for our clients to not only help the individual, but so they can carry forward and educate others to build a safe, encouraging and friendly environment.”
