Iconic South Burnett business on the market

TRUCK drivers, grey nomads and South Burnett residents could soon be making pit stops at the popular Nanango Pie van again.

The owners, who bought the business for $50,000 in November 2016, were forced to close the van due to personal circumstances.

The family bought the business for their son, and when he moved away for work his step-mother took over the business.

However, when her husband passed away she had no choice to close up and put the van on the market.

Sheena Avison is helping sell the food truck, and as a former business owner herself, understands how important it is to sell it to the right person.

"The main thing is to get the right person in there," Ms Avison said.

"It is the people that you put in that make all the difference because it is all about the service and quality."

Since listing the food truck for sale on Gumtree on Friday, Ms Avison said she had already received interest in leasing the van.

While the truck, which operated six days a week, is well-known for its pies, Ms Avison said she was open to the new owners putting their own spin on it and moving away from pies and toasted sandwiches.

The permanent site food van is on the market for $18,500 and Ms Avison said she was confident it would be back up and running in no time.
