Items reported stolen after Burrandowan Races

BURRANDOWAN Races organisers are seeking information about items that went missing after Saturday's races.

President of the race club, Brendan McCormack said two large yellow Bundaberg Rum umbrellas and Pimm's pillowcases had been reported stolen after they disappeared from the sponsorship area after the races.

"It is a shame that you have people out there that can take advantage of those situations and is a bit disappointing especially for (the lady) that was in charge of the area and she was pretty upset that it happened on her watch,” Mr McCormack said.

"It is very disappointing and it seems they are a bit of a collectors' item.

"As far as I am aware it is the only negative bit of behaviour I have heard from such a big crowd.”

At this stage the club believes they will have to foot the bill for the items if they are not returned.

"They will be gratefully received and no questions asked,” Mr McCormack said.
