Junior rugby league club given green light to go ahead

MURGON Mustang's junior rugby league will be constructing new facilities at their grounds.

This is possible through a loan approved by the South Burnett Regional Council during their meeting on April 17.

The Murgon Junior Rugby League club will receive a community loan of $30,000 to go towards the upgrades.

They plan to construct female dressing sheds and toilets at the Murgon Showgrounds.

Councillor Kathy Duff said it was good the council could assist the club.

"They are doing a huge upgrade at the showgrounds there, it's going to be fantastic once it's done,” she said.

The loan will be interest free if it is paid within 12 months.

Councillor Gavin Jones said the new facilities would be good.

"What they are doing up there, is a credit to them,” he said.

The payment would be secured by personal guarantee.
