JUST ANNOUNCED: One of NRL's greatest coming to Cherbourg
RUGBY LEAGUE: Just when you thought the line-up of former league greats coming to Cherbourg couldn't get any bigger, one of the biggest personalities in rugby league during the 1980s and '90s has booked his trip.
Manly Sea Eagles favourite son Cliff Lyons may be 57, but he is sure to still dazzle both the opposition players and the crowd with his mesmerising skills.
He will be joining the long list of other former NRL stars to play the Cherbourg Hornets Legends at the Legends of League event on February 9 in Cherbourg.
Aboriginal sportsman of the year, Lyons has one of the most impressive Australian sporting resumes with more than 300 games for Manly-Warringah club and represented his state and country on many occasions.
The Cherbourg Hornets legends will certainly have their work cut out for them to overcome this very impressive NRL line-up.
Lyons will join the already outstanding team which, in its prime, would have rivalled any international line up.
Event organiser Troy Byers said to expect some more announcements before the big day.
"There may be a couple more big names up our sleeves," he said.
