WITH 30.14% of the votes Keith Campbell has been declared the mayor of the South Burnett.

Cr Campbell said he was relieved after he found out the news on Sunday afternoon, more than two weeks after the local government election.

"I feel relieved that the results are now known," Cr Campbell said.

"That puts my mind at rest and the rest of the community."

Despite his win Cr Campbell said he would only have a "low key" celebration.

"I'm up and about early tomorrow to start the week with a clear head," he said.

On Cr Campbell's agenda will be inducting the new councillors into office although Division 2 and Division 3 have not been declared yet.

"They might be known by this evening, if not tomorrow morning," he said.

"In addition to the induction system it will be business as usual."

A statutory meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, April 7, to induct the new mayor and councillors into their roles in the South Burnett Regional Council.

From there, Cr Campbell said it would be business as usual as discussion over the region reopens.

Cr Kathy Duff returned unopposed for Division 5.

Roz Frohloff will represent Division 1.

Terry Fleischfresser will represent Division 4.

Incumbent Cr Ros Heit returns for Division 6.
