Kingaroy Solar Farm gets nod of approval
A PROPOSED Solar Farm to be built on the outskirts of Kingaroy is one step closer to starting construction.
Terrain Solar won its case in the Planning and Environment Court after lodging a notice of appeal in November last year against the South Burnett Regional Council for blocking their proposal.
After mediation between the two parties, on Monday, June 24 at 1.30pm the decision was finally handed down.
Council CEO Mark Pitt said amendments had been made to the original Development Application and had now been passed through the court.
The plans consists of a 40 megawatt solar farm with associated infrastructure to be built over two lease lots and cover 130ha of land.
Co-Founder and Managing Director Simon Ingram said during the mediation, the parties agreed to minor modifications, largely around additional vegetation screen and landscaping.
Mr Ingram said whilst the judgement delivered by the court on Monday has provided them with the ability to advance the Kingaroy Solar Farm, due to the recency of the court decision, they do not have an exact date for construction yet.
