Kingaroy Women's Open

Golf: Marilyn Bird shot 86 off the stick and Chris Yarrow led all-comers with a 70 Nett, when the South Burnett's best female golfers hit the Kingaroy Golf Course for the Kingaroy Women's Open Day on Sunday.

Bird and Yarrow also combined for the best team-of-two, with Bird managing a 72 Nett.

In Division Two, Mafe Jenkinson shot 96 for the best Gross total on the day, while Beryl Miller's 69 was good for the best Nett score.

Jean Burey-Porter (35) had the best front-nine round of any Division One player, while June Dugdell (35) came home strong for the lowest total on the back-nine.

Maureen Perkins (34) and Chris Edmunds (37) could lay claim to the best front and back-nine performances in Division Two.

Joy Koy and Iris Ferguson were on-song in the short game, finishing with a putting total of 26 and 29 respectively.
