IPSWICH detectives are appealing for the public's help in tracking down a man who robbed a Booval store at knife-point.

Police say the man demanded money from the shop attendant at the Brisbane Rd convenience store about 6.40pm.

The suspect produced a knife when the attendant initially refused to hand over money.

Police investigating after a Booval convenience store was robbed last night have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries. Around 6.40pm a man entered the Brisbane Road business and took a drink from a fridge before approaching the male attendant at the counter and demanded money. When the attendant did not immediately comply the man produced a knife. After obtaining cash the man has fled the store and was last seen heading down an alleyway towards a carpark.Photo: Contributed

He fled on foot with a sum of cash and was last seen heading down an alley towards a car park.

Police have released images of the suspect in the hope of identifying him.

The man is described as Caucasian, 173cm tall and of thin build.

He was wearing a black hooded top, black shorts and was carrying a backpack.

The male attendant was not harmed.
