Lace up to chase rainbows at fun run events
YOU can expect to see a lot more colour across the region in the next couple of weeks.
In a perfect blend of art and exercise, participants in a Rainbow Run walk, jog or run the course while dodging cups full of brightly coloured powder.
The end result is a bunch of runners coated in a sea of colour.
There are not one, but two Rainbow Runs organised for the South Burnett in the next few weeks.
The South Burnett PCYC will hold its Rainbow Run on Thursday, April 18 from 9am at Gumnut Place in Murgon.
Participants are encouraged to wear a white shirt and expect to get drenched in colour on the 6km track along the South Burnett Rail Trail.
Entry costs $10 per person and the first 60 runners will receive a free colour pack to throw at their fellow participants.
Registrations are open now at the PCYC, and money raised from the event will be put towards PCYC Youth and Community Development programs.
If you can't make the Murgon run, the Taabinga State School will host its Rainbow Run in May.
The Kingaroy run will be held on Friday, May 10 at 4pm, starting from the school.
All money raised will go towards further developing the chaplaincy service at Taabinga State School.
