League and football on this weekend

WHATS ON: Rugby league returns this weekend with the A-grade sides going head to head in Kingaroy.

The afternoon of league will start with the South Burnett under-18s game at 2pm.

The team is in strong form coming off the back of their third place at the U18 47th Battalion in Gladstone.

The Nanango Stags will face the Murgon Mustangs at 3.30pm and the Red Ants will step up out in front of their home crowd at 5pm to take on Cherbourg.

Former coaches, players and members of the club will be in the crowd on Saturday night as part of the clubs annual 'old boys and old gals' day.

No games will be played in the South Burnett Football competition but their will continue to be football in the South Burnett.

South Burnett United will face Willowburn Red in Kingaroy on Saturday at 5pm.

The home team will be looking to score a win in front of their family and friends after being defeated by Williowburn White three goals to one at Tom Alford Oval last week to put an end to notch up their first loss in their inaugural season in the Toowoomba football championship league.

While junior players will not compete in their regular competition an U6 game will be played at half time of the South Burnett United game and players also have the opportunity to have a kick with the Brisbane Roar to host a clinic on Saturday and Sunday in Kingaroy.

South Burnett will be represented in Hervey Bay as Kingaroy touch teams take part in Queensland touch junior state cup.

The event has attracted 230 teams and 3000 players from the border, north to Mackay, and west to Emerald and Roma.
