Littleproud puts his name in the hat for Maranoa again
MEMBER for Maranoa David Littleproud has confirmed he will seek re-election for Maranoa in the May 18 Federal Election.
"I stand ready to continue to be a strong voice for those who live in Maranoa," Mr Littleproud said.
In his first three years as Member for Maranoa, Mr Littleproud said he had delivered $4.7 billion to the region and hoped to get the community's support to build on this.
"I'm proud of the infrastructure investment, the roads and 35 new mobile phone towers built to target blackspots, and the spend lift in education and health," he said.
Mr Littleproud said one of his greatest achievements was getting more support for bush communities in the fight against ice and addiction.
"As a father of three young boys, the ice scourge scares me as I've listened to the heartbreaking stores from mums and dads across Maranoa tell me about how this drug has impacted their community and devastatingly altered their children's lives," he said.
In the South Burnett, this involved helping fund and develop the local drug action team along with a new rehabilitation service in Kingaroy, extensions of other services and 1.65 full-time equivalent support worker hours.
