Mackay’s obsession with The Bachelorette

MACKAY has fallen in love with love, with one in five people tuning into the season premiere of The Bachelorette.

The show, which follows Sunshine Coast resident Angie Kent on her search for the perfect partner, was watched by 11,473 Mackay viewers on Wednesday night.

WIN Network said it was the number one program in its timeslot for Mackay.

The first episode, where Ms Kent met with 20 of Australia’s most eligible bachelors, was viewed by 20.3 per cent of all Mackay residents watching free-to-air television.

The audience, watched as Ms Kent met her suitors for the first time, including Carlin, a New South Wales fitness trainer, Timm, a shaggy Victorian bearing sunflowers and Jess, a Noosa local councillor.

Mackay was not alone in its fascination with the former Gogglebox reality television personality’s search for love.

WIN Network said the show also climbed to number one in its timeslot in the capital cities.
